In line with the EUR 1 billion plan for the economy, EUR 165.2 million has been earmarked from the Just Transition Fund for the industrial transition towards a climate-neutral economy, and a further EUR 97.6 million has been allocated for the creation of sustainable jobs by investing in the creation and development of industrial sites, and for attracting investors. This will open up even more opportunities for Lithuania.\u003C/p>\n\u003Cp>The feasibility study on industrial transformation will analyse the feasibility of carbon capture and storage, and the use of hydrogen and other innovative technologies in the most pollution exposed Lithuanian industrial enterprises in Kaunas, &#352;iauliai and Tel&#353;iai counties. EUR 500 000 has been earmarked for this study. In the next few month, the Innovation Agency is expected to launch a public tender for the preparation of the feasibility study.&#160;&#160;\u003C/p>\n\u003Cp>&#8220;The feasibility study will identify the necessary preparatory actions that should be taken at national level to successfully reduce pollution and use innovative technologies in the most polluting industrial enterprises in Kaunas, &#352;iauliai and Tel&#353;iai counties in the future. The results of the feasibility study will help these companies to transform and meet national climate change mitigation targets by 2050,&#8221; said Iveta Paludnevičiūtė, Chancellor of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation.\u003C/p>\n\u003Cp>A EUR 30.5 million call for Akmenė, Jonava and Mažeikiai district municipalities is expected to be launched in May this year to encourage them to invest in the creation and development of industrial sites.\u003C/p>\n\u003Cp>The Ministry of Economy and Innovation has prepared a plan of almost EUR 1 billion to strengthen the Lithuanian economy.
