With the help of Norway Grants and an investment of EUR 155 000, the company has turned its idea into a reality by developing the first hand-manipulated hologram in the world. It all started with a wild and slightly futuristic idea of creating a touch-controlled hologram, although up until then they had only been developed as a display tool. The innovation at the time addressed the problem where every surface that could be touched could become home for viruses. With our hologram, there is no surface to touch, so there is no need to disinfect it. Secondly, holograms are space-saving and can be installed into existing structures and designs. Thirdly, because of its structure, it can function in the most adverse conditions: being touched in extreme cold with gloves or dirty hands,” says Simas Chomentauskas, co-founder of Gluk Media.

The hologram developed by the company and its partners has a wide range of applications – it can be used wherever touchscreens are used, for example in commerce, ordering or paying for services. According to its developers, the hologram creates a great visual impression and a wow effect, especially when seen for the first time. This makes the innovation easily applicable in the entertainment industry, museums, galleries and similar fields.

In its research and experimental development (R&D) as well as during project implementation the company was supported by its Norwegian partner International Development Norway AS and the experts from the Innovation Agency.

“Our partners in Norway have played their role in the project and more: they have offered valuable insights into the Scandinavian market and shared their vision of how the product could be distributed and developed there. The Innovation Agency also contributed to the smooth implementation of the project, with its experts believing in us throughout the process, supporting us and ensuring streamlined project administration. We always felt that we had a partner, rather than a controlling authority, with whom we have been working together to make an innovative idea a reality,” says Mr Chomentauskas.

The total value of the project amounts to EUR 258 000, of which EUR 155 000 is funded by the Norway Grants “Business Development, Innovation and SMEs” programme in the field of information and communication technologies. The remaining amount was financed by Gluk Media from its own resources.

The activities foreseen under the project have been completed and the developers consider the project as implemented. However, the developers of Holograil have ideas for new functionalities.

“We see the future as bright hologram-wise – everything works fine with the current form, but we have ambitions to develop several additional features and technologies. We are currently developing demo content for the museum market, but we also have plans to go into other sectors. In addition, we have already received useful feedback from people who have tried the hologram, and have been inspired by it to develop concepts for three more technologies. We are currently looking for additional sources of funding, tracking calls for proposals, and presenting this opportunity to private investors,” says Mr Chomentauskas.

We have much to be happy about

“Across Lithuania, companies are implementing 18 ambitious projects and are about to sign another 12 contracts. Investments in ongoing and future projects amount to EUR 12.5 million. Each project is based on in-depth research, and the products developed are valuable not only in Lithuania but also on international markets. In addition, by working with partners in Norway, our entrepreneurs have been provided with a unique opportunity to exchange experience with experts in various fields and unlock their business potential,” says Monika Kemežytė-Vaitiekūnienė, Norway Grants Programme Manager at the Innovation Agency.

The Norway Grants programme aims to contribute to the creation of higher added value and sustainable economic growth, to promote the competitiveness of Lithuanian companies and to encourage bilateral cooperation between Lithuanian and Norwegian companies. The 2014–2021 programme investments were targeted at green industry innovation and information and communication technologies.

The Innovation Agency provides free advice on starting and growing a business and on choosing the right financing instruments.

",[93,102,111,125
"https://web-prod.inovacijuagentura.lt/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/kosmoso-memorandumas-su-polsa.jpg",0.6669921875,"Lithuania Strengthens Cooperation with Poland and the United States in the Space Sector: Important Memorandums Signed","/en/naujiena/lithuania-strengthens-cooperation-with-poland-and-the-united-states-in-the-space-sector-important-memorandums-signed/",6748,"Lithuania’s space sector continues to strengthen international partnerships and expand cooperation with key players in the global space industry.
