CE marking of products
To mark a product with CE sign, manufacturer must complete the following steps:
- Determine which directives and harmonised standards are prepared for the product;
- Present special requirements of the product;
- Check, if independent conformity assessment is required (notified institution);
- Test the product and check its conformity;
- Prepare appropriate technical documentation;
- Mark the product with CE sign and prepare conformity declaration.
The steps may differ depending on the product and requirements applied to it.

IMPORTANT! If harmonised standards are not prepared for the product and it is not required by an appropriate directive, manufacturer may not mark a product with CE and must observe the general rules and other national legal acts.
