For education professionals

When providing information to the competent authority of a Member State of the European Union in Lithuania, the acquired educational documents exported abroad are certified by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports (the competent authority in Lithuania), issuing a certificate of compliance of the diploma of a teacher, vocational teacher, tutor, special educator, speech therapist, deaf educator, typhoid educator, social educator and school psychologist, confirming the acquired professional qualification, with the requirements of Directive 2005/36/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Lithuania carries out the recognition of professional qualifications of citizens of the Member States of the European Union, the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation and third-country nationals who are granted freedom of movement in the Member States by European Union legal acts, in order to work or temporarily and occasionally provide services in the regulated professions of teacher, vocational teacher, tutor, special educator, speech therapist, deaf educator, typhloid educator, social educator or school psychologist in the Republic of Lithuania.

Order No. v-634 of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania of 8 July 2016 “On approval of the procedure for the recognition of professional qualifications in order to work or temporarily and occasionally provide services in the Republic of Lithuania in a regulated profession assigned to the competence of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania”.
