Private detective

Persons having the right to conduct private detective activities in a different Member State of the European Union or a Member State of the European Economic Area and seeking to provide private detective services in the Republic of Lithuania by establishing therein are not required to take a private detective qualification exam.

Persons established in a different Member State of the European Union or a Member State of the European Economic Area who seek to provide private detective services in the Republic of Lithuania on a temporary basis or on a single occasion are not subject to the requirements specified in Article 6 of the Law on Private Detective Activity of the Republic of Lithuania (such persons are not obligated to 1) have no less than college-level legal education; 2) have certificate of graduation from a private detective training program or two years of professional experience in law enforcement or legal authorities, or intelligence agencies; 3) pass a private detective qualification exam; 4) be of good repute).

Services are free of charge.*

*A state duty of 100 euros is levied on the issue of the certificate.
