EUR 1 billion for the Lithuanian economy: EUR 3.8 million for small and medium-sized businesses

EUR 1 billion for the Lithuanian economy: EUR 3.8 million for small and medium-sized businesses
The Ministry of Economy and Innovation is launching a EUR 3.8 million call for investments to strengthen small and medium-sized businesses in Central and Western Lithuania. This is another measure under a plan of almost EUR 1 billion to strengthen the Lithuanian economy.

“We need to create the conditions for small and medium-sized businesses to grow and create jobs in the regions. This is why professional mentoring and consultancy services will be provided to elaborate, develop and commercialise a business product idea, and a work space will be created – exactly what is needed to enhance entrepreneurship in Lithuanian regions,” said Aušrinė Armonaitė, Minister of Economy and Innovation.

The potential applicants under the “Starting a Business” measure are business incubators, business centres, digital innovation hubs and “Spiečius” co-working centres belonging to the Innovation Agency Lithuania. Project partners are Lithuanian municipalities.

“Businesses will be able to apply to these centres and participate in various entrepreneurship promotion programmes as well as receive assistance in implementing a product or service idea from the initial stage to its development and sale,” said Karolis Žemaitis, Vice-Minister of Economy and Innovation.

The maximum amount of funding available to applicants is EUR 800 000 and the minimum is EUR 170 000.

The deadline for submitting applications to the Innovation Agency Lithuania is 31 July 2023.

The Ministry of Economy and Innovation has prepared a plan of almost EUR 1 billion to strengthen the Lithuanian economy. Around EUR 365 million has been earmarked for business, innovation and investment, EUR 320 million for the digitisation of the state and business, and EUR 268 million for the greener economy by the end of 2023.
