The call foresees up to EUR 122 million in EU investment for the infrastructure of the company and up to EUR 90 000 for training employees in new technologies. The applicant will have to make an additional contribution of at least EUR 149.5 million of its own funds to the project.
According to the requirements of the call, the applicant will have to produce green hydrogen (H2) using energy from renewable sources. The investment is planned to be made in the first phase of the integration of electrolysis in an ammonia plant (30% H2 replacement).
The Innovation Agency administering the call has already received the project implementation plan (PIP) from AB Achema and is carrying out its assessment based on the requirements of the call. The individual scheme of State aid to be applied with regard to the applicant of this call is undergoing an intensive coordination process with the European Commission.
The call “Integration of electrolysis in an ammonia plant (30% H2 replacement), Phase I” is designed to encourage companies to move towards a climate-neutral economy. A total of 7 calls have already been launched under this progress measure for a total allocated amount of EUR 219 million.
