Virtual reality headset tested at the Open Door Day event of the Manufacturing Innovation Valley
Today, the Manufacturing Innovation Valley hosted an Open Door Day event, during which business representatives got acquainted with the ecosystem of manufacturing innovators, the laboratories of manufacturing companies located here, and viewed and tested a virtual reality headset that is used to demonstrate innovative production lines at the initiative of the Innovation Agency.

This virtual reality headset is designed to encourage Lithuanian industrial enterprises to achieve results based on research and experimental development (R&D) in the field of smart specialisation, by digitising production processes in order to increase the scale of production of high added value products.

A virtual reality headset allows to see real innovative production lines and to assess whether they are suitable for a specific production company.

Business representatives who gathered in the Manufacturing Innovation Valley not only saw technological innovations up close and interacted with members of the business community, but also received one-to-one advice from experts of the Innovation Agency. Erika Tauraitė-Kavai, Head of Advanced Manufacturing, and Inga Lukošiūnaitė, Head of Science and Innovation, presented the services provided by the Innovation Agency as well as the financial instruments for advanced manufacturing companies.

The text has been prepared in the framework of the EU-funded project “Facilitation of the implementation of smart specialisation R&D results by digitising production processes in industrial enterprises (Smart InoTech for Industry)”. Project No 01.2.1-LVPA-V-842-01-0004.
