EUR 5 million of EU investment to improve SME performance and design solutions

EUR 5 million of EU investment to improve SME performance and design solutions
Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Central and Western Lithuania will be able to benefit from EU funding to improve their business processes and develop and upgrade original design solutions and trademarks. The “Non-technological innovation” call launched by the Innovation Agency provides for funding of EUR 5 million. To benefit from this funding, companies have to submit their project implementation plans by 29 February 2024.

“These investments will help the companies of our country to strengthen their position and gain a competitive advantage both nationally and internationally. This is an opportunity for businesses to improve their processes, design and trademark solutions, and at the same time become stronger and more widely known,” says Iveta Paludnevičiūtė, Chancellor of the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation.

Small and medium-sized enterprises will be able to receive up to EUR 100 000 in funding for organisational and process innovations. The maximum amount of funding for the introduction and development of original design solutions is EUR 35 000, and EUR 5 000 for the creation, renewal and registration of a trademark. The minimum amount of funding available for a project is EUR 20 000. The total maximum amount of funding is EUR 140 000.

70 per cent of total eligible project costs may be financed from the call for the development and introduction of original design solutions and the creation, renewal and registration of trademarks. The amount of funding may reach 50 per cent of total eligible project costs for the introduction of process and organisational innovation.

“By improving their business processes and investing in organisational and process innovation, companies can enhance their competitiveness and better integrate into international value chains. Design solutions and appealing value-adding trademarks that contribute to the representation of the company are no less important. Today, focusing on these elements of a successful business is a prerequisite for sustainable business growth. That is why we invite companies to take the opportunity to submit project implementation plans for funding,” says Giedrė Indriulienė, Head of the Creative and International Investments Division of the Innovation Agency.

Eligible applicants are micro, small and medium-sized enterprises operating in Central and Western Lithuania for at least 2 years, with the annual revenue from their own production accounting for at least 51 per cent of their total sales in each of the two last financial years and the average annual sales revenue from their own production reaching at least EUR 75 000 in the last two financial years. More information on the call is available on the websites of the Innovation Agency and EU Investment. This measure does not finance activities and expenditure for which investment is available under another EU measure, “Encouraging the digitisation of enterprises”. This call is funded by the Programme for the EU Funds’ Investments 2021–2027.
