Public Funding Boosts Education Innovation: Innovation Agency Offers up to €62,000 for EdTech Startups
EdTech – the education technology sector – is one of the fastest-growing innovation domains globally, forecasted to expand by over 16% annually and reach more than €377 billion in value by 2030. In response to this trend, Lithuania’s Innovation Agency is launching its third call for proposals, offering up to €62 046,60 in funding for startups developing innovative EdTech solutions. Applications are open until June 2, 2025.

“EdTech is one of the fastest-growing sectors worldwide, and we aim to help Lithuanian startups strengthen their position in this dynamic market. This call provides not only financial backing but also access to expert knowledge, strategic contacts, and international growth opportunities,” says Karolina Urbonaitė, Head of Startup Lithuania at the Innovation Agency Lithuania.

Selected applicants will join the Edu Challenger Accelerator – a specialized program implemented by Startup Lithuania and its partners. The program offers tailored mentorship, hands-on business development workshops, investor sessions, and support for entering foreign markets. It is designed not only to help startups get off the ground, but also to scale sustainably.

The results from the first accelerator cycle demonstrate the transformative potential of Lithuanian EdTech ventures. Ten selected startups attracted tens of thousands of new users, increased revenues, created jobs, and successfully expanded into international markets – showing that with the right support, Lithuanian startups can become competitive players in the global EdTech ecosystem.

Funding is available for micro and small enterprises registered in Lithuania for no longer than five years and eligible to receive de minimis aid. Each applicant may submit one proposal. The maximum fixed funding per project is €62,046.60 (including VAT). Projects will be selected through a competitive process, with funding awarded to the top seven applications.

The program is financed by the European Union’s Next Generation EU initiative and the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania.
